Puerto Pyramides

Corinne awoke with a terrible head cold and didn’t feel like doing anything but sleep. That meant our plan to visit the Valdes Peninsula, a nature reserve, was in jeopardy. After a short discussion, I decided to make the ride out to the small town of Puerto Pyramides myself and let Corinne rest and recover. Wasn’t that a nice gesture?

I did the ride in beautiful weather on another boring pampas road ...

but when I got to Puerto Pyramides I found a quaint little town of 350 people, located on a bay where a large pod of pilot whales raise their young. I did not see any whales, but the scenery at the town was incredible and I snapped a few pictures before returning to Puerto Madryn.

Upon my return to town Corinne was feeling a bit better ...

so we went for a late lunch/early supper.

I liked the king prawn so much the day before that I decided to have a whole plate of them. They were served in a nice tomato cream sauce on a bed of rice. I think I will retire somewhere at the seaside and eat myself to death!!
