Pink Flamingos

Today was a short riding day, from Puerto San Julian to Rio Gallegos.

The wind was terrible, adding to the cool temperature, and we skirted around rainstorms managing to only get a few showers.

At a YPF gas station we met a fellow from England who had just attended the Horizons Unlimited rally in Viedma, and is doing a 6 month tour of South America. He came here 2 years ago for the first time, and this trip he rode his bike onto an ocean freighter in England and stayed aboard with it. The journey across the Atlantic took 5 weeks. YIKES! I would have been bored out of my mind!

We saw pink flamingos and black necked swans as we had on many previous days, but this time we took the time to stop and take pictures of them.

Rio Gallegos is large, modern city although not what one would call “beautiful”.

Unfortunately the Soft TIT ice cream parlour was closed.
