This was our second long hard day, starting out on tarmac, but soon becoming rough, dusty gravel roads.
Corinne donned her Home Depot dust mask.
The road circled around the west side of Lago Buenos Aires and we were pleased that this section of the route was full of awesome scenery.
The lake is huge and crystal clear, with the bluest water we’ve ever seen.
The lake is surrounded by high snow-capped mountains and around every curve was another “calendar” picture.
We were in awe as we drove on and on for hours, finally arriving at our planned destination of Chile Chico at about 8 PM.
Chili Chico is a pretty little town, and municipal workers were doing their Spring cleanup of the parks and walkways. We soon discovered there’s not much there in the way of accommodation but finally found a room (with shared bathroom!) in the old Plaza Hotel. If we had arrived earlier in the day, we could have crossed the border to Los Antiguos, Argentina which we would discover the next morning is a really nice modern town.
"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to slide in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and proclaiming: WOW...WHAT A RIDE!!!"
We are a couple of everyday people who happened to fall into enjoying the sport of motorcycling. We especially like to ride our motorcycles to discover new places. We have been exploring North America on touring motorcycles since 1981 and before that the foothills of Southern Alberta by dirt bikes since 1975.
